R.A. McAlpine (affectionately known as Alpine) is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. Over the past 35 years he has honed his skill in the writing craft. Although his pen expresses itself beyond poetry, the spoken word has always been his first love. His past liberal work has culminated into a collection of poems entitled Ramology: Note to Self. Tonight we also talk about the newest book project entitled, "I Am A Black Man, Ascension of the Kings" where Alpine shared some of his past experience growing up without a father. He also shares his thoughts on the current state of black men and women and how important it is for them to come together and rebuild the family structure and community.
