After years of facing unimaginable hurdles, Jessica van Nooten and her husband Kevin Middleton turned to surrogacy. They sent their embryo across the sea to Ukraine, where a surrogate became pregnant with their baby. 11 weeks before the due date, a message arrived, stating “your baby has been born”.As they raced to Ukraine to get their little girl, Russia invaded. This is the true story of how Jessica and Kevin got their baby girl Alba, back to Australia, against all the odds.
