Furnace Fest originally ran in the early 2000s as a collection of punk, hardcore, metal, metalcore, and emo-type bands at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL. If you have seen one of the festival's DVDs, then you know exactly what Furnace Fest is. If you don't we strongly suggest you look it up. Chad Johnson was a driving force in putting on such an event. From moving to Birmingham, booking local shows, working A&R at Tooth & Nail, to reviving one of the most iconic early hardcore/metalcore festivals after 17 years, Chad has done and seen a lot in the music scene.
