Johanna Garton is the author her new book, Edge of the Map: The Mountain Life of Christine Boskoff. It is a riveting, thought-provoking story full of history, a tragic love story, but full of life, joy and success, but it’s also one of mystery and it’s all true. In writing Edge of the Map, Johanna interviewed more than 75 friends and family of Christine Boskoff, her late husband Keith Boskoff and Charlie Fowler. In a remarkable life tragically cut short, Christine Boskoff was at the top of the high-altitude world, at the time, she was the only living woman to summit six of the 8000-meter peaks, one being Mount Everest. Charismatic, principled, and humble, Boskoff was also a deeply loved role model to her climbing partners and the Sherpa community. Today, author Johanna Garton is here to share her story, a story I found deeply moving on so many levels.
