En la Medellín de los ochenta, medios de comunicación masivos como Veracruz Estéreo y La X aparecieron como los primeros canales en impulsar la llegada de la música electrónica a nuestra ciudad; personajes como Diego ‘Mezclas’ y Hernán Acevedo, lograron viralizar el poder del house music alrededor de todo el Valle de Aburrá. Clubes icónicos, fiestas emblemáticas y la influencia de una diversidad de tiendas de discos, hicieron la sumatoria de lo que hoy conocemos como un movimiento musical con rótulo propio: escena electrónica de Medellín. El Beat de la Montaña, un proyecto de Salón Amador con el apoyo de la Alcaldía de Medellín.
