This is Jay Hodgson! He is an associate professor of Popular Music Studies at Western University, where he teaches courses on Songwriting and Modern Record Production. In 2006 he was awarded a Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal. Over his career, Jay has authored and edited numerous books on recording practice, published with, among others, Bloomsbury, Taylor & Francis, Continuum, Focal, Routledge, and Oxford University Press. Out of all the books that he has written, his most recent is the Second Edition of Understanding Records out with Bloomsbury.
