I'm back with an extra-long episode to make up for my hiatus!

The first guest of Season 2 is Emily Tan! Emily is a fitness expert and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in the wellness industry as a performer, practitioner, and teacher. She is considered a major figure in the fitness world, having appeared on TV shows and featured in magazines including CosmoBody. Emily has been described as someone who lives to constantly challenge her physical strength and endurance. However, no business, fitness, and nutrition training in her professional years could have prepared her for the news she received in April 2018. Emily was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and in December of the same year, she underwent a bone marrow transplant that kept her in the hospital for 39 days. Forced to confront her new reality, she dropped all her professional commitments and took time out for herself, spurring a period of self-reflection, which she now sees as sorely needed. Emily remarks upon how facing her biggest challenge yet led to a reevaluation of every aspect of her life, and a quest to start doing what really matters to her. Having fought battles and hardship all her life, this year Emily started her own podcast in which she digs deep into stories of strength, fear, and what makes people hungry for life. The podcast, Tackling Minds, provides thought-provoking and raw conversations with everyone in the health and fitness industry, from practitioners to coaches, competitors to CEOs, and professionals in mental and sexual health.
