Ep. 17 - Bowser Hotel's famous bartending dog

In the 1940's he was Vancouver Island's most famous dog. Featured in the New York Times and LIFE Magazine, Mike the four-legged bartender was a must-see island attraction at the Bowser Hotel. But he wasn't just for show, Mike was a legitimate employee. He served customers beer and brought them their change, and if anyone wanted a newspaper he'd fetch it from the local store across the street.
