Amanda Iglesias is an architect in New York City, who holds a BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College, a Master of Architecture from Yale University, and a Master of Philosophy in Architecture and Urban Studies from the University of Cambridge. Her writing on churches has been published in Christianity Today, the New York Review of Architecture, and Architecture Today, and she is the curator of "The Architecture of Prayer," an international survey of the contemporary church and its architecture. In this episode, we discuss the evolution of church architecture from early christianity to modern times, how architects use architecture to both convey spiritual truths and fulfill the practical needs of the congregation, and what the future of church architecture looks like.
