This week we talk to Julie Ngai who is working with Telenor Digital to help us understand what privacy means, why we should care about it, and what we need to think about when we build and ship products and services.
This episode is all about why privacy matters, and how to deal with it

Episode 5 is available on Soundcloud and iTunes!

Julie Ngai has recently joined Telenor in Fornebu, coming all the way from sunny Australia. Her mandate is to talk to each and every team in Telenor Digital and help them understand what they need to think about when it comes to privacy.

The law is changing. Pretty soon in Europe things will get pretty serious if we play fast and loose with user’s information, or fail to get their consent for things. This is real and very few of us in Telenor Digital really know what ensuring user’s “privacy” really means.

We get Julie’s expert guidance on how to tackle this difficult issue. We delve into how you draw the line between user’s subconscious desire for privacy and their more conscious desire to simply get things done. We also talk about what’s changing in EU law, how that might impact us, and how to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

So have a listen. We promise you’ll find it interesting!

One last thing, it’s Telenor Privacy Day on Monday the 30th January. There is a free movie, 'Democracy: Im Rausch der Daten' screening at Expo Level 3 from 1400 to 1540. More info on the movie here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5053042/.
