Alicia Latoya Daniels was born on July 28, 1983 in Georgetown, Guyana. She is a poet, teacher, entrepreneur and most recently a published author of "A Poet's Mind". She is a trained primary educator and has been involved in primary level education for over a decade. Her early years of schooling were spent at Freeburg Primary and North Georgetown Secondary . It was in sixth form at the Bishop's High School that she completed her Caribbean and Communication studies at C.A.P.E. She is the holder of an Ordinary Diploma in Commerce from the Government Technical Institute and completed computer studies at Global Technology. She later attended the Cyril Potter College of Education where she completed her training in Primary Education. It is her dream to complete her ABE Business Studies at Nations School of Business and Management. Writing poetry is a part of her life and this is what she does in church for events such as birthdays, anniversaries among others. During the early 2000's she wrote and submitted poems to the then known Guyana Christmas Annual. Her first published poem was at 18 years old in 2001 when she submitted "Morning Light" to the Annual. In the 2002-3 edition she submitted " My Life- A personal reflection " and "A Guyanese Experience " both of which were published. She was also a finalist in the adult category of the Trafficking In Persons, Guyana Poetry Competition in June 2020.To date she has over 51 poems. She has compiled twenty- five of her poems in her first book of poetry and has done another twenty six for the second part of the book. Alicia is also one of the founders of A & J Creative Designs Plus. A company that offers unique products such as poetry books, plaques, bookmarkers, cakes and services like landscaping, swimming pool and property maintenance. She is a contributor in the 365 Invaluable Life Experiences book to encourage that one life that needs to read it.
