Dirk truly needs no introduction, starting as the drummer for French technical metallers Scarve and now serving as the drummer for the legendary Megadeth, he has proven that his drumming chops are incredibly proficient and versatile.

Aside from Megadeth, Dirk plays in many other projects including Cadaver, Brave The Cold, Tronos, Bent Sea (his own band) and many more. He has also previously played for Soilwork, The Devin Townsend Project, Aborted, Satyricon and again ... many more.
Dirk is a truly incredible drummer, blending speed, power, creativity and groove seamlessly to form a very unique and inspiring playing style. He is one of my favourite drummers and definitely a gigantic influence on me and my playing, so it was a pleasure to have this chat with him and see how his mind works.

In this episode we talk about Dirk's approach to writing parts and learning parts, how he approaches life on and off stage and his undying love for blastbeats. It's an incredible chat with lots of insightful tips from a drummer who has truly shown many times over to be at the top of his game. I truly hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
