Laurie Kaye - John Lennon's Last Interview

Laurie Kaye’s memoir is the story of her rock radio-related early life leading up to John Lennon’s final interview. On December 8th 1980, Kaye co-conducted an interview with Lennon and Ono for RKO Radio at the Dakota in New York just a few hours before he was shot and killed.

Kaye had previously written the RKO Presents The Beatles/The Beatles From Liverpool to Legend, and was a newscaster on KFRC San Francisco. John Lennon - The Man, The Memory, which she also wrote, was released a mere 6 days after John Lennon’s assassination. In the previous years to the interview, she had already interviewed many other iconic music figures including Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and George Martin.
