"Urban Social Work Journal" Founders: Dr. Brenda Williams-Gray, DSW; Dr. Carl Mazza, DSW; and Dr. Dana Burdnell Wilson, PhD-LCSW discuss their award-winning Publication. In 2018 the journal won the Prose Award "Honorable Mention" distinction as the Best New Journal In Social Sciences. The award is given out by the Association of American Publishers (AAP). USW aims to establish a forum for dialogue, debate, critical analysis and identification of relevant and cutting edge solutions for today’s urban communities. The journal also provides knowledge useful across disciplines and for work across the life course. This journal accepts: data-based, or empirical- based, qualitative and mixed method research articles; articles on theories, particularly alternative and re-conceptualized theories; conceptual articles, particularly state of the art and critical literature reviews; book reviews; endnotes.
