“Natter” (intransitive verb and noun)
Verb: to talk continuously for a long time without any particular purpose.
“My mother-in-law doesn’t half natter.”
Noun: a long conversation which doesn’t have any particular purpose.
“She’s always enjoyed a good natter.”
