Creating Connection

Intentional networking: What it is, and, how it can help YOU save time, feel energised, and achieve YOUR dreams.

Creating Connection
Creating Connection

Once you know where you are and where you want to get to, intentional networking can help bridge the gap, (and save you some time in going down endless rabbit holes.).

Networking has been said to be 'connecting people with people, people with ideas and people with opportunities' - Michele Jennae

  • You want to share your knowledge and experiences to help others (paid/unpaid - coaching/mentoring/workshops) [add value]. This is a common talked about reason for hopping on to a social media platform - but lets expand that a little bit…..  Other important intentional reasons for networking include:
  • You want to learn from other people’s experiences and wisdom (paid/unpaid - coaching/mentoring/workshops).
  • You want to meet people you can sell to
  • You want to meet people who know people or work with people you can sell to
  • You are looking for opportunities to collaborate, talk, podcast, event
  • You have opportunities to collaborate, talk, podcast, event you would like to share with others
  • You are lonely and want to meet people with like minded values and goals to share the ups and downs of your journey
  • You love the process of connecting and hearing about others stories.

So decide which one of these will be your your MAIN focus.  Decide on this before hopping on your social media networking platform.

Additional reflections.

1. Do I need to meet more people?

2. Do I need to deepen and explore the connections I have. For example if you look at your existing social network are there people in there who could possibly fit one of these reasons you are hopping on social networks. If there are, is there a reason you are not exploring this connection further?

Creating connections in the mental health professional world is essential to avoid burnout, and to have a satisfying and sustainable career.

To increase connection start with an authentic and accepting understanding of yourself; then of others; then of a deep appreciation for how we are all connected to create positive change in the world.  .

By embracing your authenticity you invite confidence and calm into you life.

If this sound a bit overwhelming, it doesn't have to be.

Using gentle, simple and practical strategies,  you can strengthen connection with yourself, others and the natural world.
