The idea of hiding your poor food choices from your kids or even your friends just becomes impossible because it sends a few confusing messages: 1 - why when I see this person only eat healthy are they still in an unhealthy body or the other being 2 - they simply know that unhealthy behaviours and choices go on behind closed doors (in secret even) and if you do have kids, you’ll know, that somehow, they know and inevitably, they’ll copy you. Thus we have to change the food culture at home by embodying healthy self respect and self love before we can expect our kids and even social groups to warm to the idea.
